Leland Quarterly: A Statement on Literature, Culture, Art, and Politics is the ink-and-paper home of Stanford art and writing. Our mission is to produce a quality arts and literature magazine that showcases the superlative talents of the Stanford community. We like to mix the fun with the scholarly, the abstract with the concrete, and we like to present all that in an attractive glossy magazine. Whoever you are, there’s something for you. Are you…

A reader? Leland Quarterly receives some of the best undergraduate creative writing in the country—writing that wins awards on campus and re-publication in national anthologies.

A writer? Leland Quarterly staffers are essayists, interviewers, debaters, columnists, and critics. We don’t just solicit and edit; we create.

An illustrator? Leland Quarterly combines commissioned drawings with our received art submissions so that we can fit images to our writing without compromising the independent intent of our profiled artists.

A designer? Continue our tradition of excellence: we are the Publications Board layout standard for new journals at Stanford as a result of our work last year. Online, we have begun to develop a dynamic new presence and are looking to fill out our web team. Finally, we’ve really been coveting some Leland Quarterly pens, t-shirts, and stickers.
